2015 - 2016 sees the launch of FROG Learniing - this is an exciting package to bring school learning into the home interactively.
What is FROG?
At Ocker Hill Infant and Nursery School we are excited to be introducing our very own Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), called FROG.
So what is our VLE?
A VLE is a fantastic learning platform, that is accessed over the Internet to support teaching and learning in school. All of our staff and students have a personal ‘log in’ which then gives access to their own customisable homepage or “dashboard”. This can be accessed at school, at home or on the move using mobile devices.
How can the VLE benefit our students?
The VLE is a great interactive resource and can be used by our students to access engaging learning resources, built by their teachers, to support the work done in class.
There are individual year group sites, so children will be given access to websites, quizzes, videos and many other things relevant for the work they are currently working on.
Students can even upload their own work to the sites to share their ideas and accomplishments with others, in the safe environment of school.
There will also be an E-Safety page where students can access tips on websites and watch videos all about staying safe online; coupkled with digital parenting this will help you to ensure that all is safe online at home. however we are always here to help so do not hesitate to ask us for help.
This year; we hope that you will find FROG as valuable as we are beginning to find it in school. If you have any queries, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
